Weather Weed
NO FOUNDATION, Toronto
September 2014
Weather Weed is a selection of watercolours, collages and ceramics. Situated in non-specific yet decidedly natural landscapes, female figures alone and in groupings experience the spectrum of life: creation, destruction, rest, play, curiosity, sorrow, exhilaration, and death. In outlying settlements, these figures are masters of their domain with evidence of camaraderie, competition, and teamwork. Each detailed scene explores the actions and consequences of a willful life force.
As an array of two and three-dimensional embrace narratives for capturing the trophy without fear of victory.
